Working Principle
After the power supply is connected to the low-voltage switchgear, the electrical energy is first distributed to each branch circuit through the busbar system. The control and protection components such as circuit breakers and contactors on each branch circuit operate according to the system's operational requirements and control instructions. When starting a load, the operator sends a start signal via the control button or the automated control system. The electromagnetic coil of the contactor is then energized, generating electromagnetic force that closes the contacts, connecting the power supply to the load and initiating its operation. During operation, the measuring instruments in the secondary circuit continuously monitor parameters such as voltage, current, and power of the circuit, and feed this information back to the control system. If an abnormal situation occurs in the circuit, such as an overload, short - circuit, or under - voltage, the protection components (such as circuit breakers and relays) will quickly act based on the preset protection parameters to cut off the faulty circuit. Simultaneously, an alarm signal will be sent to alert the operator for handling.
Structural Composition
Cabinet Shell: Made of high - quality cold - rolled steel via NC processing, with protection ratings like IP30/IP40. It has doors, vents and heat sinks for easy operation, maintenance and good heat dissipation.
Busbar System: Uses copper or aluminum bars, with low resistance and high current - carrying capacity. It includes main and branch busbars connected securely for efficient power distribution.
Circuit Breaker: Cuts off and connects circuits. Automatically trips during overload, short - circuit or under - voltage to protect equipment and people. Types include universal and molded - case breakers for different loads.
Contactor: Controls motor start/stop by electromagnetic force on contacts. High - frequency operation and long life, suitable for frequently - started equipment.
Relay: Performs signal conversion, amplification and logical control. Used in protection, control and indication, e.g., over - current and time relays.
Fuse: A simple short - circuit protector. Its element melts quickly during a short - circuit. It's reliable but needs element replacement after action.
Secondary Circuit: Consists of control, protection, measurement and signal components. With control cables, relays, meters and lights, it enables automatic and intelligent switchgear management.
