Working Principle
The soft starter cabinet uses power electronic devices such as thyristors to form a voltage regulating circuit. By controlling the conduction angle of the thyristors, it changes the terminal voltage of the motor's stator winding, thus achieving the soft start of the motor. During the starting process, the soft starter cabinet gradually increases the terminal voltage of the motor, causing the motor speed to rise gradually until it reaches the rated speed. After the motor starts up successfully, the soft starter cabinet can automatically switch to the bypass operation mode, directly connecting the motor to the power supply to reduce the power consumption of the soft starter itself.
Structural Composition
- Main Circuit: It mainly includes components such as the incoming line circuit breaker, soft starter, bypass contactor, and thermal relay. The incoming line circuit breaker is used to cut off the power supply and protect the equipment's safety. The soft starter is the core component, realizing the soft start and soft stop control of the motor. The bypass contactor is put into operation after the motor starts up, directly connecting the motor to the power supply. The thermal relay is used to monitor the motor current and cut off the circuit in a timely manner when the motor is overloaded.
- Control Circuit: Generally, it consists of components such as the controller, operation buttons, and indicator lights. The controller is the control center of the soft starter cabinet. According to the set parameters and external signals, it controls the working state of the soft starter. The operation buttons are used to achieve operations such as starting, stopping, and resetting. The indicator lights are used to display the working state of the soft starter cabinet, such as power indication, operation indication, and fault indication.
